Experiential Learning Opportunities provided by internships and projects focus on practical, hands-on education for students. Juniors and Seniors in the College of Technology program are encouraged to participate in experiential learning opportunities. To find opportunities COT students should take advantage of all resources available on-campus and tap into your personal network of family and friends who are willing to help you connect with employers.
An additional layer of assistance for COT undergraduate students is our Director of Industrial Relations and Experiential Learning, Debbie Blades, located in Anderson 205a. Undergrads who are ready to find an internship, project, or other career based learning activity should contact Debbie at (219) 989-2611 to schedule an appointment by emailing email@example.com.
College of Technology Junior and Seniors are encouraged to contact Debbie to schedule an appointment prior to beginning your internship or job search. Debbie can assist with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, salary negotiation, understanding your offer letter and connecting students to industry.
EMPLOYERS seeking to promote internships, projects, or entry-level engineering opportunities should post their positions on Handshake. In addition to posting in Handshake employers should contact Debbie Blades, Director of Industrial Relations and Experiential Learning. Debbie will help strengthen your relationship with the College of Technology and provide you with a higher level of access to COT students.
