The Hospitality and Tourism Management program at Purdue Northwest combines a strong liberal arts education with a management focus, providing many opportunities for students interested in working in fastest growing business sector in the world.
At Purdue Northwest, Hospitality and Tourism Management is an interdisciplinary degree that ensures a solid business foundation and a grasp of all aspects of the hospitality industry, including food and beverage management, travel and tourism, gaming, recreation, private club management, event and conference planning – and much more. We offer a wide variety of hands-on classes taught by professors with significant experience in the hospitality, tourism, or fitness industry. The White Lodging Hospitality and Tourism Management Center provides students with technology-rich computer labs and classrooms; state-of-the-art beverage lab and kitchen spaces; and a professionally-equipped restaurant which gives students both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house experience.
The Hospitality and Tourism Management program offers one-year certificates and four-year degree plans, with majors in Hospitality & Tourism Management, and Nutrition, Fitness and Health. Practicing industry professionals interested in credentials but not degrees can pursue a Certificate in Hospitality or a Certificate in Nutrition and Health Management.
The HTM program at Purdue Northwest also offers minors in three areas (Foods and Nutrition; Hospitality Management; Recreational Sports Management) for students majoring in other areas of study. These minors add to degree flexibility and provide students with additional career opportunities.
