New graduate student orientation is on Tuesday evening the week prior to the start of classes fall and spring semesters. It is from 5:30pm until 6:30 pm, in Gyte 103. The orientation is to welcome new students to the Purdue Hammond campus and discuss topics specifically geared toward Graduate students such as electronic plans of study and thesis information.
The orientation should last 30- 40 minutes, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions after the presentation. If you have specific registration questions, or questions about your specific degree program, please contact your admitting program. If you have questions about this orientation, please call 219-989-2257 for information (Graduate Studies Office). You are encouraged, but not required to attend. No RSVP is required but is appreciated: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The campus bookstore will be open to make arrangements for you to obtain your student ID on that evening (if you need one). The bookstore will be open from 5pm to 7:30pm, so that you may purchase your books before and after the orientation. Student IDs will also be available, if you have a photo ID and a copy of your schedule for your classes. NOTE: If you were a PUC undergraduate, you do not need to replace your student ID since your undergraduate student ID is still valid. (If you are a graduate aide, you will need to make arrangements to have your ID created through the University Police.)
For directions to the orientation, a campus map is available online.
