The computer engineering program at Purdue Northwest offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCmpE) in a well-rounded program that provides a strong theoretical and practical background in both hardware and software, including their applications.
A Dynamic Profession
Computer engineering is a dynamic profession which shapes the world and impacts many areas of our lives – from the hardware & software that networks the world via the internet to the microprocessors in mp3 players; from the software that is written to control industrial operations in manufacturing to the hardware required to support applications in virtual reality, robotics and biomedical devices.
Computer engineering is a profession that is constantly leading the development of new technology. The students can receive a Computer Science Minor without any additional credit within the Computer Engineering Program.
Our nationally recognized program has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET). It has prepared students for professional careers that include:
- Computer Science (Minor)
- Bioinstrumentation (Concentration)
- Computer Architecture/Software Engineering
- Embedded Systems
- Computer Networking and Communications
- Robotics and Intelligent Systems
- Image and Signal Processing
- Control and Automation
